FGCU's Thompson
FGCU's Guard Bernard Thompson is seen in portrait Nov. 1, 2013 at Alico Arena in Estero. The 6-foot 3-inch Conyers, Ga. native is adorned with several tattoos. On his right arm reads, "This is my life." The AND1 basketball logo of a player holding a ball is seen as centerpiece around the words. "I have to because this is what I like to do, something I hope to do for a living," Thompson said. On his right bicep reads, "Katrina" (his mother). The words are seen with rays of sunshine, "Because she always called me her little sunshine." On his right shoulder is the Swahili symbol for fear God. Across his collar bone/top chest area reads, "Live Strong." "Live life to the fullest, don't take life for granted because it can be taken whenever," Thompson said. On his left shoulder is the Eye of Ra, from Egyptian mythology, or all seeing eye for power and protection. On his left bicep is his older sister's name Natasha with a heart. "She helped raise me because my mom had to work a lot," Thompson said. "She's one of the two women influences in my life." (Corey Perrine/Naples Daily News)
