Cassius, 8, looks on after walking with his mother, Sarah Alexander, and father Scott Jordan adjacent to Arlington Expressway down the street from Seacoast Christian Academy Monday, Dec. 13, 2021 in Jacksonville. The family was traveling on foot, trying to find a pedestrian-friendly bridge to cross on their journey back home in Chattanooga, Tenn., after visiting with family in Daytona Beach. Sarah recently lost her father, and Scott, lost his father figure and were still in mourning. When asked why they were on foot Sarah said that's all the means they had at the moment and had to get down to Florida to mourn. The family sleeps by tent when they feel there's a safe place to stop, They have 'Goosebumps' books to read to their son and have run into 'harassment" from law enforcement along the way. "It's been an amazing adventure. We have each other. And it's brought us closer together," Sarah said. "It's been a life lesson." (Corey Perrine/Florida Times-Union)
